When you live on the water, it is normal for days to go by without anything out of the ordinary happening. There's the everyday kind of magic: sunrise, sunset, pelicans diving, dolphins by the bow of the boat. But once in a while something totally mind-blowing happens. A whale shark swims right next to your boat like some monster from your subconscious. You look at it and your brain cannot process the scale. There it is, moving in slow motion, so gentle and so magnificent.
